The motifs of Grynszpan's attempt are of private nature: His family had just been deported by the Germans to the Polish border. A postcard of his sister had informed Herschel Felber Grynszpan. His attempt on Ernst vom Rath caused the death of the German Embassy employee within two days. During the same night in all of Germany, Austria and the Sudetenland (recently conquered part of Czechoslovakia) synagogues were burned and pogroms against Jews started. The "murder" of a German by a Jew was used as reason for a revenge: "The Night of Broken Glasses".

Falsification

The motifs of the attempt as well as of the Night of Broken Glasses seem to be unreliable in many respects. In this web site I draw the attention to contradictions, unbelievabilities, inpossabilities in the sequences of the events and the motifs. The proofs for these facts contradicting the usually used description of the events are marked and linked.

The facts listed in this web site are events before the assassination announcing or predicting coming events, doubts by other scholars and the unexplainable most favourable treatment of Herschel Felber Grynszpan by the German authorities afterwards.
